The Informing of Others

October 3, 2007

Informing others is something that we, as human beings, should all take part in. By letting others know what is important; we are letting others know a bit about ourselves. Whether it is a local car accident, the war in Iraq, or a traumatic event like 9/11, we should know. Thanks to multiple round-the-clock news stations and devoted webpage updaters, the average person can know what is happening all over the world faster than a blink of the eye. Think about life without CNN, just for a minute. It’s hard to imagine, isn’t it? What would we have done on September 11th when the towers came crashing down? We turned to CNN and other major news corporations. They inform us of what is important. Would you personally care about the war in Iraq if the news didn’t cover the event? Yes, you would, but you may have a different perspective. This is exactly why I want to be an informer. It makes a difference in everyone’s lives. To positively impact another’s life is an empowering feeling. It could be your high school’s football scores, a celebrity’s social life, or the genocide in Darfur, but whatever you think is important is important. Be an informer and tell the world.
