The Art of Life.

October 3, 2007

Life is art. Think about it, who designed the chair your sitting in, who designed the the house you live in. Everything is art. Even if the things surrounding your existance are disgustingly hideous, it is art in its own beautiful way. Ugly things can infact, be beautiful, remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

When you make a clothing purchase do you think about what it looks like, dose this portray who I want to be, who i am? For example, in the movie “Little Miss Sunshine,” Dwayne the speechless teenager expresses himself through his t-shirts. These shirts aren’t just shirts, they tell his story, for instance he tells his opinion by wearing a shirt that reads…”Jesus was wrong.” It makes you wonder what am I exactly portraying, what am I saying through my subconscious. How can your life be affected by someone elses art? Lets say, Dwayne would go to a job interview in that shirt, would he get the job? Who are you? What do you represent? Is it the punk rocker, the nerd, the loner, the band geek, the cheerleader, the stoner, the gangster, the hick, the hippy, the valley girl or is it the jock? That is your subliminal way of telling your story, what your about.

Even your mind has art. When you talk to yourself, do you picture something of the past, do imagine about the future? When you go to bed do you think about something funny your friend did that day, even though you saw what happened, you picture what happened through your minds eye, maybe you imagined it to be a little more dramatic or maybe you didn’t remember everything your friends did, so maybe now what your imagineing, dosen’t have the same effect. Your mind, per se, paints an image, maybe you have a photograghic memory, or you remember numbers or specic words.

Actions can also be art, weather it is martial arts, baseball, tennis, even your handwriting, these actions are art. Look around you, do you think the person next to you, ties their shoes the exact same way? What about their mother and your mother do you think they raised you in the exact same way. Did they read the same stories to you as you rested in your bed . It is highly unlikely, because their actions, are unique, a form of art.

Everyone has a different prespective, and thats what makes life interesting. Some people like modern art, others think its a rediculous way to make a living. Your surroundings, the way you look, the way you think, the way you act, tells a story. It is art. If we didn’t have art how could anything be possible? Mold yourself to who you want to be, represent your beliefs, let your words and mind tell a story. Embrace the world around you, embrace the art of life.
